Im in Devon, we have small fields with lots of gates mainly and yes big high thick hedges. 

Our typical ground, no big fields or stock fencing

I had a 3/4 greyhound 1/4 collie lift 3 outta 3 in November in small fields round here not a drop of fcukin saluki in sight. Lol. 

On our fields those big long dogs struggle to put a bend in a hare. Dogs have to be right on em and most importantly keep them off the gate as they will drop under and f**k off down the road
