So...... I have a question and I’m looking for honest answers. We hear it a lot on here and I’m sure there are lads at it. But how many folk on here either have or do, catch 3-4 foxes a night, 3-4 nights a week through the season. With same dog /s. That’s 40-50 foxes a month, so September - feb would be 240-300 foxes a season with same dog / s.

Can anyone honestly say they have owned it known a dog that’s caught 200-300 Charlie a season and how many seasons did it do? Because a dog with a four year working life like that would be doing 1000 foxes.

Just asking ........

Well when put like that with the numbers put there even if someone came forward and said there dog will I'd have to see it to believe it and I dont think those numbers around in the countryside maybe in the urban situation but I know round my way if I took that amount a season then I wouldn't see another one close to home!!

A good little un will always beat a good biggun

pitbull might, unless its good big pitbull , but small type  lurchers, wont be as efficient fox killers as big lurchers, dont get wrong  ive seen small 22-23 in dogs kill foxes and good tough     little dogs, ive said few times  when i had none  ped racing whippet bitch, thee was males down the track 34 lb that pile in to foxes no prob . Dont get me wrong there not going to kill a fox like like my big dog could , but i wouldn't expect them to , a dog got to want to kill foxes , and dont mind getting bitten , not all want it  , big or small .

that's literally the definition of off the mark, the first 20 yards ?

I’m not saying a whippet beat a grey over 20 yds I mean a whippet for reaction to and strike over 20 yds is cracking ??

i think the biggest thing is how times have changed; in my lifetime foxes have never held any value so if they're there run em but if not don't worry about them.

when my dad was lamping in the 70s/ early 80s they would get up to £30 a pelt, they would be out 3/4/5 nights a week but with a team of dogs between them and they'd have up to 8 foxes a night and even doubled up  a lot of dogs still couldn't handle it from what the old boys have said to me.
