I'm finding so many modern traps on the net, that I've never even heard of. So many designs, that I'd love to try out.

Yea, in the UK, whatever's on the STAO, is whats legal to use. 

 I have the round bodygrips, and their not as versatile as you'd imagine. Not the strongest of bodygrips too, may I add.

 For power, the Belisle is hard bet. They should be legal in UK.

It's funny, actually; Back in the day, I'd seen plenty of photo's of sneaky Trap Collectors who had tracked down some bloke who (Probably designed, made ~ in his shed ~ and) still had a couple of examples of the traps we spoke of above, handed to MAFF for trialling.

The Collectors were Always grinning from ear to ear. One hand on the owners shoulder. Other hand holding up this Covenant of the Lost Ark piece of metal. It was like they'd met God and were getting a snap shot.

 Blokes who owned their old efforts always looked utterly bemused and, like; 'Who Are these lunatics?! Why are their eyes bulging as they drool over my fifty year old fukking spot of DIY project?! "

I have such photo's of my own, now. Lads flanking me, smiling like they've met their favourite super model and reckon they're on a promise. Holding up some trap or other from my Collection.

I'm the old and worn out looking kunt in the middle. Staring into the lens as if it's keeping me from putting a fresh lemon in my mouth. The one I'm sucking having lost its oomph.

The last one i had shipped over from the states was a Oneida Kill em no 1, its bottom right hand corner of second pic, thr trap was $40, shipping $30 but this side they did me another £30 import duty, the greedy sh1ts add the cost of shipping to the value of the item then tax you on that then charge you for the privilege of doing that aswell

I haven't had much over from the US in recent years because of customs. Now that we're being hit with customs from UK, I may as well get all my gear from USA. They have the shit anyway, compared to anything that can be got over here.

Well ... All this chat got my mind going. I hit a couple of google's. Came up with JB's auction site: Flog Traps.

Interesting that, while most on there wouldn't know a 'GILPA' from a " GRELL ", there's clearly still an avid fanship of old iron.

People, on there, paying £75.00 for a " First Model Juby "?!

Let me tell you; THE 'First Model Juby' still exists. I think I still have a photo of it. I have an extremely good idea who has it now. It Will Not be for sale!

The first FLAT Sawyer trap i have ever seen in fact i never knew they existed , i thought the Sawyer was a very good , Light , Killing trap other than that Pan which was on the Twist !  i had a few once and enjoyed using them

I've got a specimen Sawyer (Rabbit), Imbra and Juby sat on the shelf in my work room. Just 'because', really. They're apart from my Collection. Really must pick them up sometime. Just to recall the weight differences.

But, yeah, I remember the Sawyer is lighter than the other two.

Keep this up and I'll be getting a fork lift in, to drag down my box of Juby's. Imbra box must be under them, I s'pose. Haven't seen them in years! Come to think of it? There must be a box full of different Sawyer Rabbits too?

This is fukking sad. I go? I'll be one of the few who even know there Are so many different traps, and their details. Let alone having the actual things in hand.

Then, it'll be back to talking about " First Model " this and that again. The vast majority not even knowing an Imbra from a Mk II Imbra, let alone Types

You need to document everything you have KD. Or did you already say, "been there, done that"?

This is the last Rabbit i caught in a Sawyer ! it was in my neighbours  back garden under a shed , i put a sequence of  pictures showing how they worked then the Internet  trap Police pounced . A stupid angle for the Pan.

Got every irritating little detail logged, mate. And, believe me, it Can Be irritating too! Counting the number of coils on a spring. Shit like that. But, Some fukker has to have done it.

This is the difference in a Trap Collector and someone who simply amasses a random load of traps.

I often enough see people all misty eyed, extolling the virtues of a certain old motor. Shit like, " Aah! The old Escort III Series! That was a motor! "

Me? I vaguely remember there was indeed a motor called the Ford Escort. I'd probably know one from a Capri too. But, that's about it.

Thinking about it? I guess it's like that subtly distinction between an old motor and a Vintage / Classic Car. Collection Vs Scrap Yard.

Micky; It's funny how we never seem to hear of people having used Sawyer Bun's.

I may have once picked up on a clue why. Sadly, I don't honestly remember now I guess it's just a bit like the Lloyd traps. Just never caught on in the same way.

Hang about! My mind's definitely turning to mush. Of that there can be no doubt. But; Did not the very same 'Frank Sawyer' invent both the " Sawyer Rabbit Trap " And the " Imbra " ?

Kind of self explanatory, if so, I guess? (Fukk me. And I used to be able to reel all this shit off without a conscious thought! )
