yes it really is a shame the state some bits of sea are in.....and i can understand your thinking.....its probably the best way if your going to eat sea food

As shore anglers we often see similar after long periods of bad weather. For example 4/5 years ago there was a long period of bad weather that stopped the commercial boats fishing an area close to here and that year was almost record breaking for the amount of plaice that managed to reach within casting distance. 

 

Last year aswell, alot of local  boats weren't fishing and we had a phenomenal year down here for alot of fishing. Mullet, bass, flounder, rays and Bream where abundant and good sizes, fish the nets would normally scoop up

A few of the places I fish you can't eat shellfish from because the waters not clean enough, why would I then eat say a bass that has spent its whole life there

a few year back we camped up on the west coast of scotland....not far from ulapool higher up than sky.....i mean the place has very little population ......but there on the beautiful beaches were warnings not to eat the shell fish ....what a pisser that was

I wonder if that's to do with the salmon fisheries? I'm shocked they didn't mention the wrasse they are shipping up there for them tbh 

There's a few places here local you can eat shellfish from and they farm it here but they're all small isolated estuary outlets.
