I don't believe that it had to be put down because of it's injuries, seals get scarred up to fcuk when scrapping with each other.

Exactly it was prob already sick and on its way out and the dog just followed its instincts

To be honest i think my dogs would probably have got stuck in, seals aren't really something i've considered stock breaking them to.
