3/4grey-1/4 wheatan, just had a litter sired by a pure deerhound; Two of the pups that have caught my eye; Cheers.

If you're looking to keep the same size and speed, why put anything else, other than another deer/grey into the mix ? Cheers.

Wheaton/bull greys both over 26tts

The bitch was sired by the Irish coursing dog Mafi Magic, she's not big, around 55-60 lb.

Cheers.

I think he was around 95lb. (Average big-not massive).probably would have won the derby most years, just had the bad luck to meet 1 of the fastest ever.

I know I’ve already replied to this but it depends on what your wanting to use them for surly are you wanting to breed a specialist dog or a bits an batts type of dog?

They wouldn’t be used for small game much unless training or having a laugh other than that I go for the bigger game.
cheers

no....i got his point....and yes to keep something at 28-30 inch its going to probably need more deerhound....

for me personally i dont really think you need anything that big.....hence my reply

I want dogs averaging 28 as I said not into small dogs the deerhound cross is 5/8 3/8 he’s just 3 and looking for suggestions because preferably I would breed the dog to a coursing grey bitch but do you think that’s too much greyhound never kept a 7/8 dog any experiences ?...

cheers

If you want to just keep it straight deerhound greyhound an it’s 5/8 3/8 it makes sense to go back to a f1 deerhound greyhound if you want to keep type bred??Or you could go to another 5/8 3/8 then after that a f1 then after that a 3quarter bred. I try an do a similar thing with my Lurchers

if you want something that big....you will have to stick with deerhound or greyhound or any mixture of the two....

Morning, taken a step back from quad bikes and hounds - Don’t need the grief anymore. Having moved house my country has changed, curious of those that do hunt the hills with their lurches and a terrier at your heel, how do you bring them on? Getting the right dog for the job is no brainier but what about the training? Thanks.

      **sorry for the double post**
I know I'm probably going to get the piss severely ripped out of me for asking this, but
Has anyone ever successfully trained a deaf lurcher (from two working parents and I own her 4 year old sister who is an awesome little bunny basher.)
Genetically she has potential, but...what do you experts think?
She's not a Double merle by the way, it's extreme piebald/white head. Her vision is perfect
