I'm glad that you appreciate your grave error, and trust that you will take more care in the future. Rumour has it on the bin grapevine, that you started to cry , and promised not to do it again , so the binmen gave you your bin back .

Everyone gets wound up over bins and recycling, because it's all a complete shitshow , and has been for the last ten years or more , but here's a few pics that I've taken at work . The residents at the house that every one of these bins belonged to , called the council and complained about me , and said that I'd missed there green bin . When they were told that I hadn't taken the bins because they were contaminated , every one of the residents denied it . I then pass these pictures , along with proof of the address, to my supervisors, and they send the pictures to the residents(and sometimes councillors if the complaints have been escalated). Bear in mind that these are green waste bins , and this waste gets shredded , and ploughed into farmers fields , for our food to be grown in.

My bins used to get everything, from garden waste to shot dogs…..the secret is to pack them well down with grass clippings ! lol
Borr 6,214
During my brief residency of Romania I was informed I'd have to pay council tax , I asked how much and was told £15 ish, so I said not bad wife said that's not for the bins though, okay how much for the bins £2 a month. It was £15 a year . Tax is insane in the UK obviously you get a far superior education system, health system, less corrupt police. But as for bins you can't fault them , even if in the towns and cities they provided five different bins they all got emptied into the same skip wagon lol... 2

I vaguely remember one year , that the bill for removing contamination from green waste , was around £150,000. Every one of the council tax payers in the borough, has to pay for that . It's a bit of a shitter for the folks that bother themselves to put the right waste in the right bin. We get things like bins with loads of junkies dirty needles in them . I can't think that many folks would be happy for their kid to bite into a chip that had a junkies needle inside it.

I've been reading bits and bobs about new recycling schemes that have been set up in some parts of Wales. The councils have spent millions of pounds on recycling bins etc , but they've got no staff , and no collection vehicles , so everything is going onto the same vehicles , and just getting dumped. I'd say it's unbelievable, but having seen so much of it with my own eyes , I can believe every word of it.
terryd 8,556
The recycling in wales does my head in and the max amount of black bags which is now at 3 every 3 weeks. I don’t see why I should be forced to recycle when I get a ridiculous council tax bill to pay which they squander on shite. They should take it all away and sort it. They have yanked most the bins out of lay-byes now as well so people lob all there rubbish in the hedge now. All this money spent on this 20mph bollocks to could paid for few bins. They didn’t even collect the black bags last week so I had to take to tip. Had to show my little orange permit cause I got a van. It’s the smallest van known to man can hardly fit the dog it let alone run around collecting peoples rubbish the pillocks .

This is where we are going to disagree again I’m afraid mate, the cost you mentioned is probably spot on but in the grand scheme of things it’s absolutely f**k all…I’d make a bet the vast majority of people just want you to empty their f***ing bin ! lol …..they couldn’t give two fucks about 35p a year you are saving them ! lol Edited January 13 by WILF

You didn't even notice the bit about junkies needles getting into the food chain. Everyone just thinks that the waste that they generate, is someone else's problem to deal with . I've said it before . It won't be too much longer before we're all paying individual bills , for the amount of waste that we put in our general waste bins. Well have no choice but to recycle , and recycle correctly. A lot of it is down to education. Older folks , haven't been brought up with modern recycling, and still think that everything just goes into a hole in the ground . The reality is very different. The younger generation are being brought up to recycle , and understand recycling . In 30 years time , it'll be second nature , and no big deal . Can you remember when you were a kid , and all your parents put out for the binmen was half a bin of ashes ?. Look at how much each house puts out now . It all has to be dealt with in one way or another mate.

Sorry to be a bit dense mate, but how exactly are junkies needles getting in the food chain ?…… I used to see needles at loading bay entrances and around commercial bin in the city all the time, but I dont understand how they are getting in the food chain ?
