It's not something that happens every day mack , but it's not that uncommon either to be honest.  Dealing with eejits comes with the job .

When I get a new loader , I explain that most of the people that they'll interact with , will be idiots . The normal people just go about their business , with a " good morning " or " Thankyou" , and the odd person might ask questions about collection dates , and what they can and can't put into the bins.

The ones that you end up getting really involved with , are the thick ones that can't grasp what waste goes into what bin , then start going mad when they've done it wrong , and you can't take it because theyve contaminated it.

See, this is one of things that I deeply loath about modern Britain…..at what point did we start making a song and dance about “what rubbish gos in what bin” ?

It’s a bin, they are dustmen, there’s a big f***ing truck…..just wheel the bin to the truck, put it on that lifting thingy and empty the f***ing bin !…..you ain’t Inspector Morse !! lol 

People pay a cold fortune to have bins emptied, not have an inquisition from some geezer who probably has about as many qualifications as me….just empty the f***ing thing ! 
 

The country is awash with government employees driving everyone mad with this type of nonsense.

Remember when I was a kid, give the lads on the bin round a score and they would empty your f***ing garden if you asked them and give them a mug of tea…..now we have absolute dorks treating a cardboard box like it’s a ton of nuclear waste from Chernobyl!

I did a job up Scotland about 20 years ago for the council up there and we got sent to the council yard it was piled high with wheelie bins In the yard and 3 massive buildings full floor to ceiling so said to a lad theres some money here you having to deliver all these he started laughing and said the council ordered all the wheelie bins before the new trucks and the bins wouldn't fit on the truck lifts so the council had to buy all new bins the councils don't half waste  money most are run by clowns

The state is run by nerds and nerd enablers !……near where I used to live was the local tip, started off when I was about 17 that you could take anything in there, give the couple of lads working a little drink and away you go.

Waste in the right place, lads got a couple of pints….everyones a winner !

Then it got to there’s 6 people all dressed up like traffic cones and a few questions everytime you landed.

Then it was 10 people head to toe in luminescent green, proof of where you live, no vans, permits and passes …….c**ts all looking like Mr T had robbed Elizabeth Duke at Argos and cracking on like they had the security of the world in their hands…..mongs ! 

Hey presto, fly tipping went through the roof and now the council have to go round cleaning all that up….area is a shithole !

I'm baffled of How were caught in this system,we have given to much power to government,they steal our money every week an do what they want with it,while we have to obey them,were absolutely f****d.

That's feckall compared to Rotherham Labour council mate they have just spent millions on bike lanes that no feker uses and spent 47 million on a new cinema and development that looks like it's going to be another white elephant and other units around the cinema that are stood empty as no business with any sense wants to invest in a shitole of a town .

The traffic lights on roundabouts piss me off same near me they spent millions changing a roundabout that never backed up made it so now you have to go round 2 with traffic lights on both now always backed up with traffic they sure do know how to waste money on pointless shit when I was a kid all local parks etc were all kept well all grass areas etc kept nice once/twice  a year skips were put on estate so everyone got rid of all there crap now all local parks run down just dog toilets for lazy feckers who pull up In cars open door for their dog and sit in car and wait for dogs to do their business. There was a thing round us that came out something like 86% of council grants from our council went to Muslim families in a few Muslim populated towns in the councils bourgh

You haven't got a clue whats going on .

You can't blame the binmen,  and in all fairness,  you can't really blame the council.

The council are told what they have to do by government,  no ifs , no buts , they have to do it !. If they don't do it , the financial penalties are massive , and you , and every other council tax payer , has to pay them.

That filters down , to the bloke that's putting ( or not putting) your bin on the back of the lorry.

Would you risk your livelihood , and your pension , for some idiot that was too thick to put the correct waste in the correct bin ?. It's not hard to do , even a thick binman can do it.

I spent enough time in waste transfer stations tipping shit to see how it’s all mixed up, go in Cringle dock next to Battersea power station at 2 in the morning and there ain’t much blue bin/brown bin/orange bin or whatever going on there…..it’s in a f***ing giant mountain all piled together and getting craned onto a barge ! lol 

Its one of the reasons I’d be no good as a government employee…..I just couldn’t bring myself to say to someone “That bin lid is 75mm too high and not closed properly and it’s has a brown box instead of your garden clippings in it”…..nah, just couldn’t, I’d feel too much of a prat.

Not a dig at you mate, your jobs your job and I get that, it’s just a critique of the situation in general.

I completely agree with you wilf . It's a complete and utter shitshow.

It's something that's forced on all of us , by f***ing idiots , that couldn't give a rats ass about the environment.  They just care about keeping their hungry snouts in the trough .

The really scary thing , is that it's about to start getting much worse , and much more expensive. 

I don't think that it'll be too long now , before we're all being charged individually for the amount of general waste that we put in our bins . The story goes , that we'll all have weekly / fortnightly/monthly general refuse collections , to force people to recycle . The reality is , that once they've squeezed every last once of recycling out of you , they'll start charging extra for your general refuse that can't be recycled. ( just like they have with green waste collections).

A lot of is is down to education.  In general,  the public don't know the difference between one vehicle or another , and they don't know that different types of waste is treated differently,  and in different places , and for different uses ( and it doesnt help that every council does it differently). 

To most folks , a bin lorry , is just a bin lorry , and everything gets dumped in the same hole in the ground . You can't blame the public , because the government or local authority,  has never told them the full story.

It's no wonder that they get pissed at the bloke emptying their bin . They're pissed at the massive cost of council tax , and the only person they'll ever see , and be able to have a go at , is the poor f****r emptying their bins.

I've been spat at , been threatened with being stabbed and being shot , and just about everything else you can imagine , including gypsy curses .

My job is easy , but the bullshit that comes with it , drives me around the f***ing bend . The problem is ( for me), that I've got 24 years in . If I walk away now , I lose a hefty chunk of my pension . I pray for (and ask for ) redundancy,  but they won't budge . In the next 12 months , they'll be needing more staff , to do the extra food waste collections that have been dreamed up,  by some other greedy f****r with their nose in the trough.

The country is f****d . The blokes emptying bins is just a very tiny , but very visible part of the whole sorry mess.
