Is that the dog that does be on Mikeys YouTube videos??

The only thing is where do you find a decent Irish terrier that works, to bred a lurcher, that’s not a dig. Looks a tidy dog in those videos ?

Yes this is the dog in mikeys YouTube vids. And yes I get what your saying 100%, where do you find good a good Irish terrier in the uk? I was tempted to get one to work myself and put it to a whippet but the price of them put me off ?

I didn’t say they were non working, but it’s a big risk. Well not a risk, I could imagine that it would be at the back of your mind thinking about choice of dam/sire. Will cracks appear down the line.
Seeing the dog work on YouTube, he’s very fast and committed.

Was no risk to me with him, I watched the dam (whippet X Irish terrier) work plenty times and she is a very good dog, the dams owner also seen my whippet work plenty and asked to use him purely due to the drive and speed, he would kill himself to make a catch and has been known to run off cliff edges on the lamp in pursuit of a rabbit. So I took a pup back hoping to have a bit more coat and thicker skin and a bit more brain... he also turned out a couple inches bigger than my whippet. But for a first X I think you’d still get a good lurcher out of it even if the terrier wasn’t working, it’s not for everyone I know but I’d take the risk if I had the opportunity ??

Morning, taken a step back from quad bikes and hounds - Don’t need the grief anymore. Having moved house my country has changed, curious of those that do hunt the hills with their lurches and a terrier at your heel, how do you bring them on? Getting the right dog for the job is no brainier but what about the training? Thanks.

      **sorry for the double post**
I know I'm probably going to get the piss severely ripped out of me for asking this, but
Has anyone ever successfully trained a deaf lurcher (from two working parents and I own her 4 year old sister who is an awesome little bunny basher.)
Genetically she has potential, but...what do you experts think?
She's not a Double merle by the way, it's extreme piebald/white head. Her vision is perfect
