that doesnt look like a whippet to me.....i understand the breed standard for whippets in the usa is 25 inch....but that looks like a lurcher to me......anyway good luck with it

lol.....whats funny about that is......as kid growing up in the 70's we had an old mongrel ...and i can remember him being fed on tins of bounce....

can you still buy it i wonder

22" for dogs, 21" for bitches in America, Tomo, above that and they're disqualified ?

oh....i remember watching a tv documentry years ago....and they had whippets  lure coursing and these whippets looked big and this lady said the standard was 25 inch

any way whatever it is.....i dont recon that dog in pic is a whippet....

you know very often in the usa they use the term greyhound to cover many different stags and lurcher types.....remember dans posts about his stags ...he would often refer to them as greyhounds...

i wonder if this chap is doing the same with this "Whippet"

Quite possible for lure coursing clubs, but the AKC standard is 22" & 21".

Bit like the BWRA having a 55lb weight limit; I got banned from their site for voicing my displeasure at them raising it from 32lb to 55lb.; I said smaller greyhounds had won the Waterloo Cup !

They didn't like it ?

exactly....that bitch in my avatar...Sally...25 inch she was 51 lbs .....deer/grey x whipp/grey

Beddy x grey seen a few handy had one was a descent lamper broke wrist at 3 still descent after  but always lacked a few gears and stamina average ?? Good for rabbit fox
