Or, if you commit to a pup, the breeder can have it chipped in your name before you pick it up.

You can buy chipping kits and do it yourself....my mates boy been doing it a few yrs.... charges £8 per pup last time I spoke to thempicked up dogs in the past for a few German lads Im friendly with,got them jabbed,passported etc..boys drove  over for them,stay a few days for the craic,put them on the back seat and drove home...dogs weren't checked for a chip once...

 

Truth be known...if your only dealing with working dog lads and not advertising litters,then you don't need to worry to much about silly little laws....you take said pup to your vet,who hopefully ain't no cnut,and get it put into your name and give it it's jabs,worming,kennel cough etc,leave then enjoy the dog

that's not how it works now mate...I tried to do that...vets were having none of it....

I had a litter of terrier pups legally docked recently. The deal was in getting them docked I committed to the same vet jabbing and chipping the pups.

That's true but I wouldnt consider dogs as stock. I think you have to put more of your heart into your dogs to see them at their best. I think you have to be ruthless breeding and culling any animals and I'm past that caper and rather just enjoy my dogs with all their failings these days.

Hand on heart I don’t know anyone who ever has been stopped walking there dogs and getting scanned to see if the dog is chipped,since the law has been out but ya probably know it’s just another government scam to make money out of you.But I think we all do it to save getting that £1000 fine for each pup out that litter.

dogs a stock until there proven then they me best mate put your heart into everyone you’d have shit I don’t think you have to put your heart into dog to get good out of it food exccercise show it from young 

some will never catch a hare . coursing isn’t like rabbiting mate were you can see faults and adapt good dog man  get most from what they have Great dog man catch f**k all trying with a dog with failings mate

I understand what you are saying about the coursing and if I was into that I wouldn't keep a dog that didn't catch, just the same as I wouldn't keep a dog not interested or capable of rabbiting. I get the more satisfaction from working the dogs  these days and just being out bush with them is more important than numbers. Dogs are different things to different people at the end of the day.

Agree mate I like nothing more than been out with dogs mate but have to be descent if they are I keep them until old mate but for first year and half I wouldn’t get to attached

Normally I’ve had them pet homes mate lads have odd mooch Never sell them mate would pts if needed But if trained socialised behaved usually easy to find them descent home

same view as I now have mate there home has no guarantees there first year an half is to see what they all about if they got what you need/want or expect if they can’t do what you expect room is made for the next candidate that will do as you need/want or expect.no point in kidding your self in this game or excepting less took me a long time to realise that but happy with the bitch I got now ive no grumbles about her she’s no world beater type but very useful for me if it involves catching or killing she’ll give me her

Home them to a good pet home for life that will give them a good home have them done before hand to stop any one thinking of getting a dog to breed litters off. a dog that’s no good to work should never be bred off regardless of what good working lines it has worked for me Family member had my white bitch but I’d pts if I had to
