About six or seven years ago, I was stood at the waters edge at a reservoir playing skimmers with my daughter. The water level was hellishly low so we were a lot further into the basin than normal. I bent down to pick up a stone and my hand found what looks like a knapped piece of stone in the shape of a heart/spear head. Don't know what it is, but thought there had to be a tale behind it. It's been in my drawer of interesting bits and pieces until this thread made me think about it!

 

 

Nice that my mrs goes mad for heart shaped stones we find on local beaches.

Now I have a fare bit of Stone Age stuff some I've posted on the forum before but never seen a knapped Granite before.

This is a Oblique Arrow head late neolithic about 4000 years old or so I was told.

Very small Leaf Shaped Arrow Head.

Two small barbs 20mm long, stuck in the side of pointed wood or bone.

A Knife blade 45mm long.

This I would like to find, somebody gave them to me they come from the deserts of Jordan where they are easy to find or so I was told.

Mrs found this on the pebble ridge at Sandymere a few years ago, not much flint local so most comes from one small area which all has the same colour. Local museum did a write up of it as they are so rarely found. The clay on the foreshore has human footprints visable when the sand gets scoured away by winter storms, was a marshy area in prehistory used by stone age hunter gatherers.

Knocking the old raised bed down and pulling all the bits of lead off I've nailed to it over the years. When I've been out metal detecting I'd empty my pockets of non shiny stuff and nail it to the outside of the raised bed. I'd also knock old pennies or unidentifiable coins into the cracks and bend them over. Some of the little pieces of lead must of been really old weights, plus medieval spindle worls, worly giggs, dress weights etc

Hope Arry doesn't mind his thread being taken over with pics of our shite. 

Just been home to look in my bedroom, I've got a possible meteorite and a 13th century skillet handle. Walked into my bedroom and it's full off drapes, hippy shite and insense burners! My fckin niece has moved into MY room. Can't find any of my rusty metal and rock collection . 

I presumed my mum would of preserved my room as a kind of shrine or something. OK I've not lived there for 25 years but for ffs

I certainly don't mind I love finding things lost in the ground wether it be bottle coin or other oddity's.

Keep posting things you've found.
