JakeFury 225
I would have shared this on another forum, but... They already know so much.... almost everything it seems some really nice lads, some... really not so much.... So..... I thought I'd share it with you lucky peeps instead. I decided to try and make a nice shooting gun, accurate and some squirrel power out of an cheap springer that I was given when a good friend passed away. Good reason. I've been working on it for ages to find the sweet spot for power vs accuracy and trying different delrin and Nylon66 parts I've modified. And at last today, i finally nailed it... A Remington Express. With 10.8ftlb doing 10.7 to 10. 8 with weighed pellets over twrny shots. Probably seems like a waste of time, but..... It now shoots 10mm groups at 25 yards (Calm today) has no torque recoil and come straight back with a small amount of manageable recoil. I've got the exact dimentions of the bits I've made and what I've done. If anyone wants to turn a Remington Express into a really accurate lrifle.... Hit my I'll tell you exactly how to do it.... Thought I had it nailed before, but now it's mega straight... Very very accurate for a 150 quid break barrel. Cheers all. 2 Quote Link to post

JakeFury 225
Don't you find they lock really nicely? For a cheaper rifle the realign on closure perfectly. Did you Tru Oil yours? I've been emailing Will, but I think he's having a bit of a time of it over Covid perhaps hasn't answered an email for a while.. I used Nylon66 bits in the final. Version and I cut down a titan 9 to 19.5mm and it uses about 5mm preload. It's more consistent and accurate than my unturned 97K now haha... Mental... Gonna do that next. Quote Link to post
Baldcoot 2,352
Yep true oil is the dogs ,had to remove a coil from the titan spring as it went leary but now all is well . Quote Link to post
JakeFury 225
I had to remove about five!... I wanted to reduced the recoil. I found that as was momentarily quite illegal before the angle grinder came out again and I removed two more coils, I had it at 11.8 to 11.5 but it was still recoiling quite badly quite a light gun.. So power has to match weight for me IMHO.. .. Then I got some Nylon66 bits, and the wow... All the rotation in recoil was gone, just gentle nudges you as it nails the bull... Well well pleased...
