chartpolski 24,384
Getting busy with my plots now. Got the greenhouse ready for seeding and just come home from buying veg seeds, but there was frost this morning, so I'll wait a bit. Ive moved all the poultry into my new, adjoining plot and getting ready to install a new poly tunnel for extra tomatoes. All the raised beds need rotovating, but I'll leave it till it gets a bit warmer. Im champing at the bit, but I fear the frost isn't over just yet. Cheers.

forest of dean redneck 11,707
Get 3 hens never keep pair or single buid a run with shelter in end ,a size to fit raised beds they will scratch it up eat any pests and weeds Fertilise the ground , then leave it fallow for bit as their fresh manure will scorch any plants . so you can plant one have chickens on one and a fallow one an just rotate them round every so often

Curried eggs are great, with or without chapatis And I can practically see your brains doing overtime, thinking where to get chicken wire, wood, bedding, feed etc etc etc, and by god, none of it can come from ............... I'd straight away seen that Though, with those sleds? I could possibly harness myself and drag the fukking thing around. That would be a serious consideration of mine. I don't bother attempting to grow shit. Too much like work. I don't eat salad. Cabbages are cheap. I've long had thoughts of a few chickens though. I'm crazy for two sorts. One, as far as I know, lay eggs. The other (MEG) just look amazing. Pine martens? Fukking things!!! It's the bucks. Kunt Kunting kunts!!! 'My' foxes? I feed and film them. They do no harm and I like them Female marten? Absolute bonus about the place. Highly recommended. But, when a Buck blows through?! Absolute Fukking Carnage!!! Go Canadian.
