Just a Hi from me HW97 Air Rifle Fettler Hunter and HFT Prospect

Hello all, 

Just thought I'd join up, and see if anyone else with my interests and views exists in these parts. 

I am interested in Spring powered air rifles, tuning, repairing modifying and generally messing about with them in a safe and Chrono graphed fashion. 

I like to ventilate the odd Squirel and have been known to take the occasional rabbit...woody, and the associated pests. 

I've got a long love of all shooting sports including small bore, clays and syndicate shooting with my late Dad. 

I'm strongly opposed to legislation that infringes further on shooting / guns / hunting... A member of BASC... And... That's all I can think of. 

Any like minded folk? Say hello

Hello Jake and welcome aboard matey.  You will be in good company here regarding the hunting side of things with a number of us spilling over into shotgun and rifle shooting on 'Rimfire, centre fire and shotgun' section in this part of the forum. There are also some very clever guys on here who strip and tune springers as well as being pretty good hunters using them as well.

We do take the pi55 out of eachother so be prepared to have your trousers pulled down but all in the best of fun.  Enjoy.

North, Near Aldershot. 

I drive as often as I can to shoot at Laines in Andover and I have a permission between myself and the back of Guildford for practise and the odd quarry... But mostly I just shoot card after card. 

I love to mess with my innerds.. 

I'm hoping to turn my 97 into a full comp ready gun. Cos let's face it... They are wild well mine is. Torque recoil all over the shop. Better now

Hoping to short stroke it, lighten internals maybe develop the idea for a wider audience if it works. 

I've tried picking some brains on tuning, but the real guys are a very allusive bunch perhaps because of PCPs and or Covid.. Who knows, and the others seem to all contradict each other... 

Would love to chat with a tuner who knows his stuff as an engineer.

I'm not interested in FAC or SGC if I'm honest, cos I can't mess about with the inners haha
