overnunder 0
well i left school when i had finished my gcses, did fairly well in them and so i was able to get an advanced apprentaship in mechanical enginnering. it was collage based for the first year and the next three are in collage a day a week doin all the written work for my nc and the hnc and the rest is site based its a very good job actually. i get paid for goin work and get day of go collage which is hard but a laff the company im with pay for all the collage etc and will even pay for uni if i decided go. so my advice would be wait and get some test results under you so you can find more jobs with better pay and also gives you more oppertunities if you decied to leave the job. by the way its not cars im fixing, not a mechanic im a fitter.. hope it helps a bit

Guest davieboy
Alright mate, Join the army, one of the corps, get a trade and good money, you will be a free man by the time you are 21, with alot of world experience, alot of driving licenses, possibly a good tan (IRAQ, AFHGAN) you will have slept with lots of women and had a great time. Might not sit to good with you coming from that part of the world, if that is the case i apologise, if interested PM for more details. Its not for everyone but might suit an outdoor person like yourself. Dave (no doubt many will disagree!!!)
Aled 510
OK here's my pennies worth. I didnt like studying but did not mind school, somehow i got some GCSE's. After leaving school i went to college i got a HND and a degree. College was totally different to school, i studied a subject i enjoyed (Rural Management ideal for a countryboyo) passed exams, and got through. However to get a job after college was not easy, but i did. I now manage a regeneration project in Wales and my job is OK and the salary is OK. HOWEVER, the guys i know who are making the most money and living a good life are the brickies, carpenters, electricians, plumbers etc the guys with trades. They left school with the three R's (Reading, wRiting, aRithmatic) and a few basic GCSE's (lower than grade C) at 16. They have done very well. So get the bare minnimum you need from school and get on to a trade apprentice and you could be laughing! Cheers Aled
