Alright lads I have decided Im going to leave school, I cant bring myself to go there anymore I hate it that much  Im 16 and living in Ireland so I was wondering could I get some advice from some of ye on here. :) I want to get a trade but dont know which one would be the best route to take? With people telling me the buildings are fecked etc. What do the lads working on the buildings now think? What about becoming an electrician surely the building of new houses wouldnt affect this to much? Anyway any advice from lads in the know is welcome ;)

P.S my mind is made up I do not want to stay in school

I'm an electrician and found the college much better than school but there is a fair bit of maths.

I don't know about Ireland but i'm offered more than double the amount of work i can possibly manage to do, all the plumbers i know are in the same boat. I have been working as my own firm for less than a year.

You could do a lot worse.

Its easy to say now i'm 34 but i'd stick at it and get as many qualifications as possible, I left at 15 with some GCSE's and was quiet happy living at home working in a dead end factory job on minimum wage but when I got to 21 and met my wife I realised that to get a job with any sort of future/earning potential I would need qualifications. I enrolled at Uni at 23 and never regretted it, I've now got a much better house, car and bigger overdraft than I could have imagined before

i left as soon as i was 16.

dident see my last year in school as my birthday was on the 5th september, two days back after

the summer hols.

had a year off as you do with the dogs, then done a bricklaying apprenticeship, and aint looked back.

get your self a trade mate, and iff your good at it youl earn a lot more than the school swats

who got them selves a job in banking or say teaching .

and you can look forward for the days when its to wet to work,so you get out hunting.

i love the winter and rain :)

electrical or plumbing would be my advice but be warned the time is college or on courses willbe as bad as school..........

plus these two trades are always big in demand plus you have the added advantage of maintance in large hospitals or factories....

stay away from the wet trades, you,ll be fecked by the time your forty

brickies have too many wet days and heavy work to do,plus the forigners are cutting the shite out of it.

go for something nice and light, your young try a couple of trades until you have found the one for you.

good luck and put 100 per cent into the trade you are learning.when you are your own boss you can lie back a bit and let others do the work . learn quick :bye:
