Dan Dare 19
My LGV is a low on power. A clean and lube has helped, but it's only doing around 10ft lbs. I've added pre-load washers (to the extent that I cannot add any more or it will not cock, which is not ideal), but it's still low. I've heard that it's worth fitting a 25mm HW piston seal. Is it a drop in - a push fit on the piston in the same way as it would on a Weihrauch - or is modification needed? Which HW seal - HW 30, 77, etc - should I get if it's worth trying? Many thanks for any advice, folks. Quote Link to post
Rez 4,961
Eyup. One of the lads that actually knows what there doing could answer you better on the tech Q’s. But. I think, if my memory serves me right, that the LGV’s are intended to be running at 10 FPE mate. Bit like the Pro Sport. That, along with there tank like internals is what gives it the ridiculously smooth and almost none existent nudge in the shoulder. The Competition Pro I had a round on the course with was set to 9.8. The owner dropped it down a bit. But did say it was set at factory @ 10’ish. On a side note, there was some fuss from the springer category lads that he actually had an unfair advantage as his rig literally didn’t move and he should be in the puffs group anyway. Can I ask why you want it more than 10? I’d take a super accurate 10 over a kinda accurate 11.5 any day. 1 Quote Link to post
Dan Dare 19
Thanks for the advice, Rez. I don't want to push the power too high (I find .177 too snappy when it gets close to 12 ft lb). I was just wondering whether it would be better with a little more. It certainly shoots nicely and is accurate (out to about 50 yards at my club range on a still day). My HW95 does a shade over 11 and is my favourite rifle. If you think it best to keep the LGV as is, I'm happy to do that. 1 Quote Link to post

Is it the comp model? 1 Quote Link to post
Dervburner 2,549
Well, I don’t know much about lgv piston seals but here’s some tinned food that you might like 2 Quote Link to post

I haven't any pic's of my particular LGV, but it's the master model (same as the comp/ultra/pro, but with a lighter, slimmer wood stock and no adjustable cheek piece). It's the one in this vid' - Walther LGV Master Air Rifle Review UK #1 - Short Term Review - YouTube. Being ancient and a bit of a weed, I like the fact that it's lighter in weight. A little heavier than my HW95, but not massively so. Edited February 21, 2021 by Dan Dare Quote Link to post
LuckOrJudgement 437
I remember a guy who used to be on here who was/still is one of the best shots I have ever seen(as evidenced by his youtube exploits) saying that he liked his guns running around the 10ft lb mark. Quote Link to post
