Gaoler 83
Hi all, I have just got my HW95K .177 back from AGRTuning, Tony has given it a full strip down & tune, and fitted a Vortek PG3 kit in it. If it is as good as my HW97K he tuned, it should shoot smooth & accurate! Job for the weekend put it back in its stock, and put a tin of pellets through it to settle it down, then re-zero it. Tony is a top bloke, and so helpful... 2 Quote Link to post
.357shooter 1,236
never had a .177 springer myself.he did a very good job on my .22 hw95 too.would be interesting to see how good it is compared to a .22.if it is indeed very good then might consider getting a .177 springer. Gaoler 83
The Vortek kit & tune are so good! The rifle cocks so easy compared to the Weihrauch spring, so smooth, and hardly any recoil...groupings are on par with my PCPs. Zero had hardly bugded! That Vortek PG3 kit, well suits the HW95 in .177, well chuffed. Quote Link to post
Gaoler 83
So my question is (this is my ignorance showing now!): Not just the Vortek PG3 kit I have had installed along with a tune, if springers can be so much better, why don’t the manufactures spend a bit more time and effort making them better!? What makes the tune & various tune kits better than the original HW springers internals? Quote Link to post
.357shooter 1,236
all products are made to a cost and thus are sufficent at what they are made for.why spend more when the returns will be less as they would sell less as their products would be more than other airguns.just my opinion mind.lots of people just see the dollars and would be horrified at spending more than £350-£450 on just a springer.this is proven by all of the tuning kits that are out their that really do not cost that much but the parts are better than the mass produced bits used.bit like back in the day when i went to a car hifi installer and he pointed out how much the speakers cost in my car ie feck all.all to easy to upgrade by not spending a lot.plus a lot of the time the kits are installed by tuners in their sheds who do not have the massive overheads of such big companies like winerack.no disrespect meant as i know the guys do a brilliant job and would not be in a job for long if they did a crap job.tony did my 95 last year and it is better than a vmach and getting on for a vglide.
