I'd been wondering if you'd seen a red kite. That's no fukking kite! Okay. I'm gonna be the one with the balls to put his head above the parapet - so all the experts can come out of the wood work, off the back of it and call me a kunt. But, all things considered? I'd be interested to hear what else it can possibly be but a Goshawk. Good morning Ken,dunno do you not think it's a buzzard, its pretty big. Il see if I can get closer today, its was on a hundred foot tree lol Nah the trees big but it's up high on a big banking. Edited February 11, 2021 by Francie

We can only work with what you're giving us, Francie. Original shot clearly enough showed a couple of buzzards, doing buzzardly things and being identified by you as buzzards. That one walked like a duck. Now, we have a bird which ~ in almost direct comparison ~ you swear was ridiculously bigger than your buzzards. And show us a photo of it? Well; The science says buzzards run 48 - 56. You do the figures. Goshawk goes 58 -64. See? They also have a 'certain look' about them. Bird in the photo is oozing that look. And one other thing; How many people, on here or anywhere else, are seeing buzzards by the shed load. Day in. Day out. Yeah? And how many have Ever reported them as being attended by a fukking great flock of crows?

Stupid thing, but birds fluff up there feathers in cold weather to retain heat, had the same chat the other day when a bloke said look at the size of that buzzard, it was -2 and the thing was puffed up like a ball

Greyman 28,883
All the birds in your pic are facing the same way which is another sign of an easterly or northerly wind so they will face into it I’d say it’s just trying retain heat

It's the same here on the Lincolnshire / Cambridgeshire border. Never saw a bird of prey unless it was a Kestrel but now we have buzzards, red kites and peregrines. You were lucky to see a magpie 40 years ago as well.
