Yep buzzards.  Never ever saw them down here in Kent up until about 5 years ago.  Now there's quite a few around.  They circle high up and make a high pitched sort of peew, peew  sound.  They are quite often seen perching on low branches or out on the sports ground field

Seen the honey buzzard fairly regularly down on the Kent / Sussex border ..as for the common buzzard they are every where now ...just before I moved from there we started seeing the odd red kite as well ..

To be honest, I've seen and heard these birds but I've never gotten that close to even think about that there are different ones. It's the same thing with the red kite. The thought never crossed my mind. I'll have to start taking the binos out but generally when I've seen them thyve been at some distance to really see full detail.

There is a valley alongside the motorway between Bristol and clevedon we’re the motorway is on stilts, I expect many of you have travelled it regularly, there are 27 nesting pairs of buzzards in the one valley and each one has 2 nests they alternate each year, I find a few fledglings in the spring that have fallen from nests most years over there, they will often circle round looking at the Russel when I,m walking there  ??
