Nice one, remember loads of people keeping fighting cocks in my youth especially the Indians, they would always pay over the odds at the bird auctions now it’s only a few travellers I know of that keep them, did he copy it or is it an original ?

I like to keep the odd game bird around the place, ( no double entendres intended ! ? !

I had a huge shamo cock, ( again, keep the smut to yourselves! ? ! ), that was very tame and friendly, could hand feed him.

Now just got this American Game in with the layers;

That's a splendid piece of work mate, I used to keep a few Furness game birds out the back until some septic old split arse complained for no good reason, champion little characters, and all the other neighbours enjoyed them even bringing their grandkids round to see them

At first I wondered whether they might be merchants or traders that have come to trade and perhaps are being entertained in a local hostelry, but then I noticed that at least three of them appear to have guns, so perhaps foreign soldiers?

Desert merchants maybe and your probebly along the right lines,just the white lass bit sort of puts a deeper story to it for me.They all seem to be having a chilled out time with booze and guns and a cock fight and she seems happy enough to so all is good in this little pic anyway eh...:laugh:...

Barbary pirates were making slaves of white folk long before the slave trade in blacks.
