Rabbit Pie ! And, for the purists, made with shortcrust pastry, NOT puff pastry ! ? ! Cheers.

Treat off my dad tonight, he's a friend on the fresh fish stall up town... Scallops and lemon sole fillets...

Family get together at ours, so a bit of a spread.. 13 hour cooked brisket, slow cooked pork shoulder.. Home made coleslaw, stuffing, roasties... and a 2 day hangover! Lol

Yeah, I do a lot of it the day before, they’ll be expecting 3 courses so preparation is the key, this isn’t my first rodeo ( lol )

Fair one, starter in my house would be scrambled eggs and smoked salmon breakfast then they gorge themselves on chocolate whilst I pour a scotch and cook dinner. Probably aim for a 2/3 o'clock lunch so they're coming down off sugar rush.

My missus has already put forward the menu, she wants leek and potato soup with Parmesan and garlic croutons, choice of chicken or beef, must come with creamed cabbage, the rest of the veg is up to me, then cake and custard, but has to be a choice between vanilla and lemon ( lol ) I’d of gone, chicken liver pate, venison, Bakewell tart, then some good cheese, but they are people of simple tastes

Yep sounds good , I'll probably see what deserts Lidl got in and I'm all about pate and cheese, tbh boxing day is my food day of the year, cold cuts , pickles, butter, pate, cheeses, a tiger loaf , looking forward to trying home pickled shallots especially chilli ones. Ah I'm feeling a brisket and coleslaw sandwich coming on....

Got this made for the old boys 70 th birthday today. I thought the 'marching on together' was a nice reference to us in the family staying close and sticking together after losing my mum a while ago. Just had a slice, was ok but wish I'd have got some cream in!!
