Rabbit Pie ! And, for the purists, made with shortcrust pastry, NOT puff pastry ! ? ! Cheers.

Treat off my dad tonight, he's a friend on the fresh fish stall up town... Scallops and lemon sole fillets...

Family get together at ours, so a bit of a spread.. 13 hour cooked brisket, slow cooked pork shoulder.. Home made coleslaw, stuffing, roasties... and a 2 day hangover! Lol

Exactly what is that, mate.

Never seen anything like it.

Don't tell me something as simple as 'mushroom soup'!!!  Lol  👍

Bear in mind, I'm 1 1/2 bottles of red wine down!!  Lol 👍

Possibly the antithesis of this thread but the decline of fish and chip shops. I have seen the decline of them, not in number but in quality. Often thought it would be a viable side line, charging a bit more but offering quality fish and chips. I did witness the decline of genuine quality fish and chip shops, take-a-way only, hold their own when others sold out to the kebab/pizza/crap fish and chips. But they took the money and ran. I suppose I've just answered my own question. How is it possible to turn such simple but potentially delicious ingredients and make them so bland by the process of cooking them?

Local chippy has just started cooking in beef dripping, said chippys couldn't buy it after mad cow disease. He's just found a supplier from a rendering plant in southern Ireland. He says he's lost all his vegetarian customers and all his Hindu customers....but people are now travelling from all-over as word spreads. He's big on healthy eating and when you talk to him he goes off on one about the dangers of seed oils and the health benefits of proper fish and chips. Reckons he's one of the only shops in England using 100% beef dripping
