Not up to mackems gastronomic delights; but cheese, biscuits, pickle onions, bag of Lidls crisps and a bottle of cheap South African plonk to consume whilst watching the darts !

Rabbit Pie ! And, for the purists, made with shortcrust pastry, NOT puff pastry ! ? ! Cheers.

Treat off my dad tonight, he's a friend on the fresh fish stall up town... Scallops and lemon sole fillets...

Family get together at ours, so a bit of a spread.. 13 hour cooked brisket, slow cooked pork shoulder.. Home made coleslaw, stuffing, roasties... and a 2 day hangover! Lol

I'm sorry mack , but I refuse to read anything French,  because it's French 😁.

I've got pheasant leg curry for tea tomorrow.

When my mrs first came to live with me , whenever I butchered pheasants,  I'd vac pac them in left leg packs , and right leg packs . I told her that I always preferred the left legs as they tasted better .  Whenever she did a curry , she'd ask me if I wanted a left leg curry , or a right leg curry. She'd even tell people that she's cooking a left leg curry for tea as they tasted better.

After the first few times , I was scared to tell her the truth , so she carried on doing left leg curries for about five years , until I'd got the bottle to tell her the truth 😳.

I'm guessing that these days , she probably makes me a left leg curry , with a bit of spit in it 😳.

Mel,you need to come live with me mate,if your feeling alarmed there’s helplines,I feel sad reading some of your posts.

I’m sure I had that in a dockers pub in Hendon around 1973, or maybe my mind is playing tricks on me….

Cheers.

We both know you didn’t have something like that in Hendon in 1973 nor anywhere within 10 miles of the place,I was shoplifting in Hendon in ‘73 I was that hungry,it was the land that time forgot back then (and still is).

Do you remember an Italian place on Fawcet Street called Rino’s back around late 70’s early 80’s ?
My oppo in Saudi was from Farringdon and when we were on leave at the same time we would have lock ins there.
We always drank grappa and always ate gambaroni for some reason !
I often find my mind drifting back to those halcyon days ! LOL !

Cheers.

I remember one time me, my Mackem pal another lad from Newcastle and two from London were all on leave together and met up at my place.

I took them for a night out that started at Tuxedo Junction and ended up on Quadrini’s Tuxedo Princess.

We were spending money like drunken sailors on shore leave, paradoxically we were on a boat !

We weren’t happy with the meal service and let it be known as we left.

Some “heavies”, dressed appropriately in tuxedos, followed us down the gangplank and said Mr Quadrini understands you aren’t happy with the night so would like to speak to you.

We were all young , fit and up for it, so went back on board expecting some serious trouble, but he couldn’t have been nicer; table laden with food and drink and paid for taxis to take us home when we finally finished

Now it’s cheese and pickles and watching the darts ! LOL !

Cheers.
