Also if it takes less then a few hours to cook something it's not BBQ, at least noting any serious BBQ person here would take semi serious. Real BBQ like legit stuff is low and slow in direct flame over wood and SURE AS f**k not in some $50 UFO looking grill Also could be argued that true smoking it's self is it's own thing. I mean this stuff is like saying throwing some tuna in with some rice is the same as legit risotto.... Like yeah both are rice with fish but Or a scone and an American biscuit. Yeah their both a type of quick bread but a scone is sweet and savory like a dessert and an American biscuit is more salty or savory or buttery. And you can't really just swap the two out because they won't work. It why so many people who have tried actual whatever get twerked off with how terrible something is because they made a shitty ignorant swap. Big thing here now the low and slow smoking/bbq. We made them out of old metal diesel barrels, cut long ways in half and hinged one side, vents on it, stainless steel grill racks.. you could fill the bottom with coal or wood and once the flame died down close the lid to smoke/bbq There's some great ones out there now, expensive but properly made . Kanny and Borr off here use them all the time. I live in part of England (devon) that is famous for scones with cream and jam...certainly wouldn't have them with gravy! I agree bbq over a gas grill is not a bbq, but surely cooking over any natural flame, either wood or coals is bbq... It's all semantics, BBQ is the device the food is cooked on therfore any food cooked on a BBQ is BBQ food , grilling on a BBQ is barbecuing 1

Originally made with PORK sausage meat and fat. Didn't post yesterday as I didn't want to upset @mackem, as he doesn't eat pork. Unless he has one of the alternative gravy slops? 14 hours ago, Bakerboy said: Filth Anyway, yep, filth. 1

jok 3,255
Well you guys. I am going for something slightly different. Venison Rhulad. I have been having lamb on a regular basis which we both enjoy immensely so decided, today, as it happens to have a go. I’m thinking, mushroom, onion, garlic, coriander, tomato purée and the obvious salt and black pepper. I have the pastry ready so looking to roll and seal. Our local butcher bastes his in an amazing mix which I’ll have a go at. I’m guessing this needs a while in the fridge prior to cooking so will have a go. QUESTION. Would it be advisable to pre cook the venison mince? My later pics will undoubtably tell a story. Jok.
