Myxomatosis

Got 13 rabbits the other day, some very clearly have myxi,  others look abit better, some had loads of fat. Don't think ill eat these ones.... do yous feed dugs and ferrets myxi rabbits or just bin them ?

You can eat them yourself no problem... Makes no difference to the dogs or ferrets

Ive probably done it before and not known mate, would prefer they didnt go to waste

No need to waste, I always feed them to ferrets. Safe for us to eat, just usually too skinny for my liking. I do clean them though to check carcass for secondary illnesses like obvious worm infestations, sometimes egg sacs in hind leg muscle etc

If they have just got myxi i will feed them to the ferrets but in the latter stages the flesh is watery and of no feed value

Once they get to that can hardly move eyes full of puss I don’t even like touching them (bit wet I know but they are rank) if they just have a mild symptoms then no problem at all to eat or give to the ferrets.
