Greb147 6,809
I can only go off what the lads say but I believe they are telling the truth for what they experienced. These are lads that are constantly working away, being from Carlisle they are usually miles away from any job and so need to lodge away for most of the time. I've worked with these lads quite often in various locations all over England and it's the first time any of them has mentioned anything like that. Like I said they are straight up lads that don't suffer fools so there must be something going off. You have to laugh at them though, I got them going even more after googling something and showing them pics of a supposed burial ground in the ruins when it was damaged in the war. It's now a library and has a decent garden going around it, which offered a great place for young dickhead to runaround in and not do one. One night I was walking around there and I felt like I was being watched and I do mean full hair on end, spider senses tingling like crazy. I go into the park next door now and never go in that garden at night Something really creepy about the place. Anyway... since then, I've spoke with a few of the oldies around my area and everyone of them said it's rumoured to be haunted. Of course you were being watched, a dwarf in lycra on roller skates exercising a dumb saluki cross at night will always catch somebodies eye ffs

low plains drifter 10,651
There's a nice old woodland near me, it's used as a cemetery, all of the gates are accessible by vehicle, and are locked in the evening, apart from a small side gate down a muddy track which is often left open, probably too much for the council fella to trudge down there last job of the day, and get covered in mud, and jobby. I often do a road walk with the dogs around 2 or 3 o'clock in the morning, and have a walk round this place if said gate is ajar, there can be an impending atmosphere if the thin mist is hanging. The dogs are wired, there's fox, hedgehog, and squirrels about, and the odd pheasant that has escaped the shoot of a few miles north of here, but the rabbits that we used to ferret out of the archaic decaying graves as schoolboys have long since disappeared. The lodge house used to contain old Don who had worked for the council and was told he could see out his days there, he used to breed all kinds of hens, and would sell Pol, as well as fertile eggs, and eggs. The house is derelict now, wouldn't mind the gaff myself as it happens, sometimes I'll park me arse on the bench and sup a flagon, and listen to the owls, and watch the pipistrelle bats flitting around the lights by the gargoyles of the church, anyway it doesn't happen all the time, but I've felt overcome by a sense of being in grave danger on the odd occasion The end

Meece 1,958
I have been at two locations where there has been an odd feeling. Nothing intimidates me and I have been out on my own during the day and the night in woods, around cemeteries ect. If I had to sleep in the church on a pew or on a bench in the cemetery it wouldn't freak me. I don't believe or disbelieve. The two places where I have encountered weird feelings have been a building that was a car spray booth ??? And a room in Hurstmoceux castle where athere long time ago had been a Capstan winch that pulled up the portcullis and the drawbridge. Both events were during the day and I hadn't been drinking. I was on my own in the spray booth and with the family at the castle. We had gone to Hurstmonceux castle with the kids becase there was a display of scientific experiments that the kids could experiment with. Whist there we took a guided tour of the house /castle the room in question was just a large room with a large open firplace in between the gate towers. This is where the gaurd used a capstan winch. We were in there with others on the tour. I had a most peculiar feeling similar to that felt at the spray booth. This feeling was so bad that I just had to remove myself from this room.! As soon as I went out of the room the feeling went away. I Can't explain it or give any sensible reason. I've never been back to test out if it happened again. If there was something in there causing it, I wouldn't be frightening of it but would want to try to communicate with it if possible. On the other hand I might have the same feeling of just wanting to be away. But that would make me want answers. Probably no way to investigate. It's similar to big cats in the countryside Edited January 11, 2021 by Meece

DIDO.1 22,844
A good few years ago I was travelling from Lancashire to Cornwall where the pennine were having a series of joint meets. Anyway I must of been running late and I'd set off last minute. My plan was to join the followers who I knew to be in and around a certain village. I thought I'd have a pint then search for some digs. I was driving over bodmin Moor and it was getting fairly late, there was thick fog. I looked at the time and thought fck it I'll stop in the next pub, get in for the night and see everyone at the meet next day. Passed a sign for colliford Lake and tavern so gets in there, bit of a drive from the main road but looks OK. Landlord says I'm welcome to stay but once he's rung last orders he's off home and I'm on my own till someone comes to make breakfast. So gets myself a meal and a couple of pints and turns in. Takes a pint up and plans a wank and switch off ready for hunting the next day. Drifts off to sleep no bother. Middle of the night I wakes up. Not gently but with a fckin bang. Fast asleep to wide awake in 0.1 seconds like some fcker has walked over my grave. Sat bolt upright and looks at clock.... 1am exactly. No bother I lies down and closes my eyes when the TV comes on. I thinks I've laid on the remote so starts searching for it. Sees it on the bedside table but it won't work in trying to turn the TV off so I gets up and goes to turn it off by hand by pressing the button on the TV. Switches it off and gets in bed, and it comes on again. I gets up and turns it off again. 30 seconds back in bed and it comes on....again. I gets up and walks over to the TV and pulls all the plugs outs so it goes off. Gets back in bed and the TV comes on....again....this time no picture just all white and fuzzy with a screaming loud white noise type screech. This lasts for about 3 secs....which is a long time when it's gone 1am and ITS NOT FCKIN PLUGGED IN!!!! The TV goes off and all goes quiet. So I pulls the blankets over my head and contemplates my next move. Just then, I'm being completely honest, I have no need to make this shit up, someone run across the room and booted the radiator at the side of my bed. I sprung out the bed and ran to the lights with my fists up in a fighting position but obviously these nobody there. Again I thought through my next move. I've had a few beers (but nowhere near pissed) so can't drive onto bodmin Moor at 1.30am or I'd be pulled up straight away. I considered sleeping in the car but this place is out in the middle of nowhere with trees all round so it looks even worse out there. I spent every minute until dawn wide awake, sat in a chair. As soon as it came light my bravery returned so I got a couple hours kip. Don't think I stopped for breakfast as it was early autumn hunting if I remember right. I remember the huntsman asking me what my digs were like as we walked out next morning. "yeah they were OK" I said. I've only ever told a handful of people, normally when we were pissed and we were yarning late into the night. its pointless really telling someone a tale that you can't prove.
