I'm going to do that. I'll ask him if these are live capture traps and report back. 1 1 Quote Link to post
Nicepix 5,650
I'm wondering whether he might have had a wrist capture and got to the mole before it expired. I got a request to help someone out last month. They only have a tiny garden and not many moles so it wouldn't be worth my while to set up a contract with them. I showed the guy how to set a trap and left him to it. Anyway, he bought two haf-barrel traps from an ebay seller near to Ipswich and he couldn't set them. Neither could I. The 'bridge' on top of the catching loop was so high that the latching wire had to be bent over the top of it and it squirmed out of the trigger hook as soon as pressure was eased off the spring. The spring was powerful too. No matter how much tweaking and fettling I did the latching wire slid out of the trigger hook under pressure. I told him to bin them and buy from Flatpack, but I don't know how good Flatpacks are these days. Certainly not as good as five or six years ago. There is some real schite out there, especially in ebay-land. Quote Link to post
