Nicepix 5,650
The latest news on banning the Dutch electro-fishers and Norwegian boats from UK waters is going to cause the EU some problems. The pulse trawling has been controversial and it was expected that they would be banned from European waters. Boris got in first, seized the moral high ground and peed up the lamp post letting the whole of the EU know that Britain controls Britain's waters. Gold star to Mr. Johnson! And guess where those super trawlers will be heading? Ireland here they come. Then banning the Norwegians until there is an agreement will cause them to hammer at the EU's doors demanding a better deal than they have now AND a common fisheries policy to allow them access to UK waters. Norway's agreement with the EU is now worth less than when the EU included the UK so they will want their treaty renegotiating. As do Switzerland. The export market to the EU is now not as big as it was last week. So they want a new deal too. Then there are all the other countries and trade blocks that have lost the British market that was previously encompassed in the EU trade deal. They will all want compensation or a new deal because they now have to negotiate with the UK separately and the EU deal isn't as good. The EU trade negotiators are going to be very busy indeed and it will all be giving, not taking for a change. Edited January 2, 2021 by Nicepix

Even if we weren't the greatest nation on earth then we still wouldn't want to be dictated to by a bunch of frogs and krauts. Add on to that a bunch of fckin square headed carp eaters who want to toss off our benifit system. Get to fvk out of here you nob

The Norwegian government is already complaining that their deal with the EU is not as good as the UK's deal. Of course it's not.....they still have to pay into the EU ! Being an EU member may have benifits, just like being in any abusive relationship has advantages over leaving, but eventually people stand up to the bully.
KimE 487
Norway pays more for their deal with EU per citizen than UK payed to be within.

Farage reckons the EU won't last ten years and I wouldn't be surprised if he was right - again.

Thing is that Norway need to be able to sell to the EU whereas the EU needed to sell to the UK. That is why they get a sh1t deal.
eastcoast 4,151
Great news about the fishing but is it just a coincidence that no sooner have we left the EU than we seem to have gotten our seasonal snow back?
