Scallops are a better fish to eat.  Gently fried in butter, non garlic for me, I want to taste the fish  Atb j

I only get to have them 2/3 times a year  unless we go to France  then i have them every day , i can do 3 Dozen with no effort but to some  of the Market traders at Brum put that lot away as a starter

never seen live lobster in our supermarkets, are we not allowed or am i not looking in the right places

You'll find them here in the markets crawling around totally alive (or barely), crabs aswell. It's not a nice thing to choose the most active cnut running around an ice bath because it's fresher. But that's the reality and I'm gonna choose the freshest I can afford ?‍♂️

To answer (imo) it's no problem here but UK is another thing and guaranteed there are legislations.... supermarkets here (like ASDA etc) have them running about. Imagine seeing that in Tescos ?

That's the one thing I struggle to find here. Fresh, still alive and never been frozen scallops ?

I've looked everywhere here in BCN, all stalls/shops admit they've been previously frozen and they're never in the whole shell, just the split half.

The Mrs has tasked me with finding huge, meaty, fresh scallops for Christmas lunch.... I'm fuucked ?

Spider crab legs FFS, we chuck hundreds of spiders back yearly

You're probably chucking a good few tens of thousands away, every year mate.

Had a seafood medley last night. Mussels in white wine, cream and garlic. Seared scallops and lobster tails. Served with rice and veggies. Was a proper feast and probably cost no more than 25quid for two.

Add a bit spider crab legs to that and it would be over 100 notes ;)

you can fill your boots with spider crabs were i live can catch them on crablines or in pots right below my house or by hand if you fancy snorkelling

If you can get enough together and keep them alive for transport, you can make a fuucking killing selling to any high end restaurants ;) Either that or sell on to a dealer for transport to Europe.

Some Danish guy found a way to transport langoustine alive, anywhere in the world. He makes millions.
