Its simple really I had the vaccine to try to ensure my family have a father next year, (when you see people die 1st hand, some younger than me, it brings a reality home),to protect the vulnerable i meet in my every day life and to do my bit to build a herd immunity so that we can all get back to a normal life rather than have over 500 people die of covid in a day. A vaccine used on over a million people or millions of deaths from Covid?

So where does that play into a worldwide pandemic and it potentially being eased with a vaccine (forget the speed of development for a minute)..

The speed is in line with the funds, man hours, backing etc...the time was a constraint so it was backed ..we have all put our faith in vaccines for many years, I bet you'd never looked at how long the vax were operational when you took them for your first trip to the far east...I know I didn't....

Its a good point mate, and I agree the social media affect is perverse in many ways...

I have spoken to good friends in the NHS who were disturbed by the affects it has had quickly on people, I know quite a few people now who have lost people to it....but I guess we would just put it down to a bad flu if we were none the wiser.

The vaccine underwent all the standard safety trials of any vaccine, they may have done them concurrently rather than one after the other but how does that make them any the less valid? If you think about it as an industrial process, which it is in part, if you have 4 people each make a chair leg at the same time you get a chair a lot quicker than if you just have one person making them one after the other,  but its still the same chair, the only difference is you pay 4 wages instead of one but get chairs 4 times as quick. So in the same way the vaccine had all the usual studies but rather than only beginning one after the other they did many of them at the same time, so the same whole time spent on trails.
