Is there a possibility that the spike in deaths for 2020 was a case of covid19 harvesting people who were on the way out anyway and that there will be a corresponding lowering of death rates in the upcoming year?

I think that's logical given the demographic spread of the dead. Likewise if we lost a chunk of a younger generation you'd likely expect a dip in deaths when they would've reached life expectancy. All things being equal and assuming the number of dead is large enough not to get lost in the random statistical nature of it all.

Like doctors and nurses on the front line. Hopefully there will be lower number of deaths next year due to the vaccine, if people are not to scared to take it.

I see Dr. Fauci, the American Chief Medical Officer, has apologised for his petulant outburst about the UK being the first to license the vaccine.

Cheers.

There's a lot of politics going on. No doubt Johnson's team were keen to regain some pride too mind.

Fact for the day

The average age of death of someone with covid in the uk is 82.....

The average age of death in this country is 81...

Which raises the question, what are the lives of the aged worth to us? :hmm:

Not worth more to us, than their own lives are to them. If I was 70/80 year old and told that your family can't visit you, you can't visit them, no physical contact, no hugs, no visits....and when I ask why? They say, "its for your safety, we're thinking of you."

Their playing God.
