I like to feed my dogs well and to condition them etc. But in all honesty how many folk over complicate it and act as if their dog is getting 100 runs a night.

Mine just get a good kibble with additional meat that I have about, usually lamb, mutton or venison.

Im sure I’ll upset some hero or other ?

I can be your hero baby but not a upset one ??I wouldn’t say many over complicate things mate if they know what there doing its just how they prefer to feed its personal preference it’s like everything once you got the jist of things it becomes easier and uniformed an quicker. for me I’m uniformed I’ve a good routine when I feed the dogs it’s literally open bags in to there bowls feed dogs refill the bucket to defrost the next days feed no different to getting a cup an scooping biscuits out a bag an putting them in a bowl tbh nothing complicated about it Who’s said anything about 100 runs a night...no one crazy trying your hardest to ruin someone’s post! . pet owners raw feed as well you know it’s not exclusively working dogs that are fed raw  ? better luck next time

I’m not trying to ruin anyone post.

However ..... there is defiantly a bit of a trend which almost suggests that if you feed kibble you are feeding your dog badly and it will be shit. It’s not really the case, and especially when it comes to pups, a good quality kibble fed ad lib alongside meat regularly is a safe and easy way to ensure a pup gets everything it needs and grows well.

Seen folk talking about £60 bags of kibble and weighing out multiple different bits of things in %s . I totally get why folk go that way, but for nearly all of us, performance wise, it would be ok to feed a half decent kibble.

Im perhaps lazy, and just feed them a good kibble and mix it up with meat. Often they just get a piece of a carcass, leg, rib cage, neck, head etc and no kibble. If they are looking a bit fat I cut food back, but thin, up the food. Probably what most of us do in some fashion or another.

I know we talk about our dogs as high performance athletes but many don’t have a measurable known out put. Something like hare coursing is a bit different to having a mooch or going lamping not knowing if you will get any runs or one or two.

It’s a bit like the fit dogs thing, I’ve seen some mega conditioned dogs that look like Adonis, but can’t run for shit.

Few folk have nailed it on this thread so not a lot to add, what I will say tho is find summat that’s readily available a stick with it, an if it’s kibble you choose try buy best you can afford but it’s pointless starting them off on great gear them feeding shit when your skint, find summat you can afford an summat that’s always gonna be there?

There’s the positive post right there ??

What I was trying to say at the start, is although a raw diet is very good, with a pup I would be wanting to give it almost ad lib access to a good kibble and then top up with raw meat like mince beef, chicken wings, duck necks, oily fish etc. Not necessarily jump straight in with a complicated mixed platter.
