Everyone laughed at me when I promoted the idea of slinky being able to detect the presence of danger caused by unnatural events.  Since then these doubting Thomas's  have all gone quiet.  Over the years  I've come across these super slinkies several times.   Usually their behaviour seems to be as a result of being educated by someone.  There were the ones  on one piece of land that were super, super flighty. This had been caused by a bloke driving around on a quad with a pack of lurchers in tow. All Charlie's in a two mile radius of that quad were off the field like greyhounds.  One evening I was stalking  one that was out on a stumble.  Suddenly it raced off the field as if it had been stabbed in the arse with a hat pin.!!!  About a minute later quad man and the lurcher pack comes along the lane.  I laid low in my position to see what happend.  Quad man and pack entered the field and went straight through and out the other end gate.  I continued to remain prone and out of sight for fifteen minutes.. Suddenly charlie is back out on the field.  Another one I  controlled had been rifle shot through its ear.  There was a perfect round hole. Event like these teach Charlie to be cautious. The way to get round this is to camouflage or alter the trip condition to give a slot of opportunity.  No one has come up with any suggestions.

how far away from the bait area were you laid up mate ?

50yds. I will be 75yds away but my car won't be skylines again!.

If that fails there is the decaying caravan they will put in the right place and I will make a suitable shooting position from within.

It will be worth it as I think a new line for regular visitors is being established here right now!
