Fishing flys

Can any body she any light  on these flys . What where they used for ? I know nothing about fly fishing.

Salmon flies

and sea trout flys

None of these flies would catch a trout on leven nowadays

If I'm not netting I use teal blue and red, black body with flash, always worked with salmon an sea trout. Alexandra is my goto sea trout fly.

Peter Ross and a silver stoat tail  is my fav combo for sea trout, often pick a salmon up on the stoat.
