I wouldn't trust a trap that doesn't have a spring lad, but then again, I don't trap squirrels.

The guy in that video said they are 25 notes each .no reds here at all so snares will be ok.i will see if I can source some mesh and make a few

Just to point out that the door is of 1/2" mesh. I wonder why that is? Galvy strip goes one 3/4" mesh beyond the bottom edge of the door. Door is 6" long.

All put together with a few J Clips and a foot of galvy wire.

I imported my own J Clips, and pliers, direct from the states. Cheaper than paying a middle man to do it for me. Mug.

I'd take close up photo's, to demonstrate exactly how the 'factory process' works with these. But, I'm in Linux and so have no 'Paint' facility. I can't circle anything in red, or draw an arrow pointing to it.

Anyone seriously interested in knocking out facsimiles of this approved design? Ask me anything that isn't clear, or you can't work out? I'll do what I can on a case by case basis.

Fair enough lad. I just know a mink would be outa that before morning. Even a rat will look for a weak spot, in a trap. Maybe those squirrel are as dumb as people say.

Looks like a Havahart collapsible trap to me I have one here. You will get squirrel in it as long as everything moves silky smooth with all the mechanism touch points.

Good traps them King. I have one myself caught many Squirrels in it and cats also good for retrieving lost Ferrets. I believe it to be a Rabbit trap as FD said. I make up little pockets of wire mesh to stop them getting at the bait, also stops the bait disappearing from mice.

Think it is designed to collapsable by unclipping that rusty U shaped bar and opening the doors, I never have bothered to be fair though.

Had this bugger this morning watch it go all over the trap trying to get the bait but in the end went in. That was a smaller Squirrel trap though.

That's spot on mate.i didn't think it was collapsible as it's very sturdy and strong and I haven't any experience with traps to be honest..that's a good idea using mesh to hold and protect the bait though.i have a few mesh bird feeders here I could cut down and use 1 of them to hold the bait..I will replicate what you have done and give it a go.

Do you use them for ferret food or yourself mate.

No mate just sling them in the compost bin. They have been wrecking my bird feeders bloody things. Bugger them up by putting the feeders on long wires.

I've tried skinning them in the past and to be honest it's bloody hard work.its like the jacket is super glued on lol.

I will get the trap in the woods later.been sorting the dog out the last 11 days after he hit a tree.

Will let you know how I get on mate

I shoot loads allways skin them before chucking them into ferrets. Cut inbetween the tail bone and the body step onto back legs pull and off it comes all the way to the nose
