We must have crossed lamps at one stage or another, another time that we will never get back.Would you say the lurchers where better then? or where the times better?.I think those times will never be replicated,it was far more honest and the folk we lamped with where far more lurcher savvy.Happy fecking nights that live in memory.

i seen some cracking dogs run back then....but equaly seen some crackers in the last 10 years or so...seems like we had a bit more freedom in some respects...no mobile phones nightvision thermal ect...so getting caught these days is far more likely i guess....

The last 3 comments are why nobody posts anything decent on forums or sites anymore. What’s the point just so it can get picked apart by all the experts

Morton. You’re a massive insufferable bellend. Don’t think I’ve ever seen a hunting post from you.....

the way I see it a rabbit is a rabbit no matter where it lives you still have to catch it. around me numbers have been bad for years. (tomo knows the area). years ago I had bigger dogs and travelled a

That brings back memories , we used to park inside the quarry inside  the workers garages we took our own padlock to secure our van inside ,,one night it all kicked off  police ,  keepers  drove around for hours looking for us  , we just went back to the garage and had a brew waiting for them to get fed up .

I run a few places a round there not had much bother but the odd run in

I'm on no defensive mate I catch as many rabbits 70 miles away from the dales as I do in the dales like I have once again today. for some reason you seem to have a problem with lads that work their dogs on the Dales even tho you've never been there.

No problem , I couldn’t give a monkey what lads catch on the dales for simple fact is I’m not interested in rabbits with dogs , I was just stateing that I believe dogs have been made legends from running on the dales , which me personally if I was going to use a stud dog over a bitch I would rather use a dog that could catch 15/20 a night all over the country than a dog that’s catching 70/80 on the dales , if I was after a rabbiting type dog that is ,

and I’ve watched a couple of your videos on YouTube and your dogs seem plenty able to catch in testing terrain /hedges/dykes etc etc , but I’ll stand buy my opinion of dales rabbits , lads who I trust have been there plenty of times and said it’s good ground for get pups going but as for the rabbits it’s more about the dogs fitness and the handlers fitness hauling rabbits up and down them hills than it is the dogs getting good testing runs ,

there’s lads out there catching 20/30 plus with 3/4 collie 1/4 grey , and I’m pretty sure that a member on here who bred some pups not long back that were les than 1/4 collie and were catching rabbits on the lamp ,

and like I say I saw one the bitches run local and was lucky to catch 1/3rd of its runs But up there hardly ever missed ,

at the end of the day tho the rabbits don’t just  jump in to the boot of your car and the dog still has to go catch them and retrieve them so the dog still has to do it’s part which is fair enough , but like I said I agreed that dogs have Been made legend from dales rabbits which I still believe true

and on that note , well done on today’s haul ,??

Fair play mate I get now what you are saying but it's a big place you can go on the hill tops and it can get boring watching the dogs run in the day never mind on the lamp but when you come down to the low ground on the short grass land your not going to catch numbers with just any running dog then when you come to the steep hill sides it's hard to find a good dog that will give you 100% , these days a dog that will I rate higher than a dog catching five foxes on the lamp and a coursing dog catching three out of three hares  , cheers ATB.

I’ll agree with that , lad I no caught 65 on lamp with 1/2 spaniel 1/4 whippet 1/4 beddy

also another lad I no went up dales on an invite and had 37 out of 40 runs , and that dog couldn’t catch 5 or 6 local

And another lad who caught 7 out 10 with a full beddy which had never been on lamp befor lol

Yea that’s fair enough ,I’m not stateing that every single rabbit on the dales is like shooting fish in a barrel I was simply stateing that plenty dogs been bragged up to be something there not due to taking 100s of rabbits from of the dales ,

there some seriously easy rabbits up there as I’ve been told by mates who I trust and also someone who would of loved to make out his dogs were the bees knees even said it , I’m sure there’s places up there that have had there fair share on lamps on them so are going to be a lot more sport .and seeing some of trevs YouTube’ clips any yours and vins there all not the same , ,

but at the end the day you’ve still got get out with the dogs to get them

and as for  the offer on the book on the other topic , it was genuine ,??
