She’s the least intelligent collie I own the main aim of the game is to produce a dog that could come round in the truck with the collies and go out with the bushers and mug some stuff. We don’t really have rabbits here, but my lamp dogs are getting to look a way that they aren’t really something I can take some places round here day time. Quote Link to post

Chid 6,582
Whippet Grey ..or 3/4 grey 1/4 collie Quote Link to post
trigger2 3,145
I would fire a straight grey over her just to keep the litter a bit more level but personally I would be wanting a slightly taller lengthy dog from them. If you use the whippet it should keep the litter a smaller level. The whippet grey would give you a bit more of a lottery with size. All depends on what you fancy and the ground and work and quarry you will be working. I wouldn't use the grew for reasons I stated above. 3 Quote Link to post

Sounds good for what you've said above. Quote Link to post

Shortstraw 476
Personally for me I would use a decent leggy lurcher to lurcher type.....it would certainly add more than the greyhound. I’d avoid straight half cross like the plague and I love collies. 1 Quote Link to post
SheepChaser 8,089
Some interesting answers. I guess it’s a toss up between producing a proper all out runner and usin a grey or big leggy sighthound mix lurcher or producing a little knock about dog and using a whippet or small type lurcher. 1 Quote Link to post

That’s made it sound as if your still undecided an no more wiser than when you first asked the question 2 Quote Link to post

Atleast you've got it narrowed down ! 3 Quote Link to post
sandymere 8,263
Nice track grey that stays a bit. It will give the size and speed to a 1st cross, the collie will bring its own talents to make a versatile lurcher. Quote Link to post

If you put a beddy/grey over her and keep a rough coated collie marked pup that should look incognito. Wouldn't be as good a catch dog as a straight collie/grey though I wouldn't think.
