I've employed a few woman over the years, I employ 2 at the minute working on the production of the UV-C kits...they are fine.

My brothers wife has worked for us for years in accounts and she is what keeps the companies ticking...we'd absolutely lost without her..

must have been me then.?

He wouldn't be any good at that. His sales pitch for whites would be top notch, anybody with a dark complexion , well, say no more.

Anybody watch Grand Designs? Really interesting programme.

Yes mate, I’m liking how they are using metal cladding more and more in buildings.

I said to the wife is I ever get to rebuild the old part of my house I’d clad the whole lot in black metal.

In the last 5 or so years the amount of "grand design" type houses we fit out with metal cladding is mental...anthracite is the in colour.

We do a lot of fancy aluminium as well, steel frames, metals and glass...some of the stuff looks amazing.

Got a gang on one now in Torrington, all the roofs are zinc type standing seam, anthracite finish...big place with indoor pool etc, I'll get some pics up.as we go

I like it mate, it’s quick, it’s clean and you don’t have to keep painting the bloody thing !

I built myself a barn a couple of years back in timber frame and clad the whole lot in grey sheeting, all I have to do is give it a wash down once a year

Not everyone does work for a straight wage mate... there's many many ways to earn money, not just doing a 9-5 every day...

To pull £150k plus a year in a salaried job is high level professionals..... but not everyone is working for a salary...

I know that, a local builder who I know of is worth a few million now.

Now what he makes a year i have no idea but he's done well for himself.

I've tried talking my brother in to setting up himself as he can put his hand to most things and is a brickie but he doesn't want it, he's happy earning a grand a week on the trowel.

a grand a week can take some earning self employed so i can see his way of thinking ....

He's self employed subbying to a local building firm.

He's grafting for it like but he doesn't put in long shifts Mon-Thur and is usually home by 12pm on a Friday.

I've asked him why he's not bothered about setting up and he said time and money, he could do it quite easily I should imagine.

If he's wort a few mill clear it doesn't matter what he earns a year mate...he's done the graft and the mortgage is cleared with money to enjoy... I'm sure he's taken a few chances and been clever with what he's earned...its not just about the yearly salary....

Not everyone wants the aggro of working for themselves mate, he might earn £10k one week and nothing for the next month... that's the truth of it... I think you have to have a few income streams now, most blokes I know who have done well on the buildings have rentals, a bit of plant hire, outside investments etc... they haven't just earnt.a decent wage they've reinvested... some like a gamble some don't, there's no right or wrong mate.

at some stage in its life it will  .  be some painter splashing a couple of coats of steel n cladding paint all over it  all over it

The new coatings on the steel sheets have a 25 year guarantee mate, loads better than the old shirt that you see peeling off..
