They just bought a 600k (Canadian) flat downtown, with help from family. He's on around 30k GBP and she's on around 25k. Mortgage is a large one but they can cover it. No car or holidays for now, just invest in the flat and tighten up.

I pay around 600€ every month for everything rent, leckie, etc.. I put all my money into my daughters education... now that's done for the moment, I'm saving for her Uni. When this is accounted for then I'll look at buying a property in the mountains and do it up.... tighten the belt. Fuuck HP and debt up to the neck

A few years back I think it was calculated that in my old area you needed to earn £27 an hour to just get by, that’s just an ordinary ex council type semi and not too many frivolities !
Greb147 6,809
Mush is laughing but that's over £170,000 a year before tax. I don't know of any people who earn those kind of wages. Edited November 7, 2020 by Greb147

That’s true and I wouldn’t command that sort of money outside my particular areas of experience either. I want that money just go back and visit the world and have to deal with the endless stream of bland ordinary fuckwits now days though mate ! Lol Edited to add: Dont get me wrong I’m very much of the attitude of you wouldn’t step over a £10 note either so if there is f**k all else to be earned I’ll earn the tenner but I know when and where that’s required if you get my drift Edited November 7, 2020 by WILF

When I worked in finance the general way of scaring people into investing (I never used the tactic) was to show them that to recieve a 30k a year, you needed millions invested, so that would be your interest return. Absolute bullshit! You can get all mentioned, house, car etc for a lot less than 170k a year
