Hi lads 

do any of you lot ever used one of these , and if so what’s the crack with them 

Ive read there very good with StrelokPro, but only available from the USA

Never seen one.  I just look at the cctv screens to see or I ask the Mrs to go outside to see if it's raining.

Never used one. No reason why it wouldn't work. It's just using the phone as the processor, so basically the same as every other anemometer.

That said, loads of non smart phone based for only £12.99. Given the choice, I'd buy a dedicated one (less hassle, no bits to fall off or wires to come disconnected, doesn't get in the way of phone calls etc.):

Its a kebab stick and a bendy straw, stick it in my compass (circular printed and laminated sheet) to work out the wind direction in degrees

You can always just put speed and direction in manualy like I do

From what Sauage was saying about it being painful, I think that's what he uses as well!
