gnasher16 30,437
My gaff is in a quiet country lane so its not unusual to see wildlife up and down the lane but last night i pulled up with the dog in the motor at about midnight to see 2 Muntjac,3 Roe,a badger and a fox all within about 20 feet of each other all just stood looking at my car even when i got out....i let the dog out and he flew around like a lunatic and they all scarpered.....i half expected them to pull shooters on me its like id just interrupted a drug deal or something.....i had a good look round and theres nothing laying about so what the f**k can that all of been about its been bugging me ?.... piqued my countryside curiosity kind of thing. 1

I often look for strange behaviours in animals as a sign there could be something lurking out of site that’s scaring them out into the open, often nothing but if it’s on or near your place no harm having a look, just go to were they were all stood and move away in ever increasing circles out to 50 metres or so and if something was hiding, man or beast you should cross its path or the route it travelled

SheepChaser 8,089
I’ve seen similar. Don’t know the answer but anyways wonder things like soil composition ? Is there an increased level of minerals in that part of field etc ?
Born Hunter 17,798
I can honestly say I've never seen such a diverse mix of large (for this country) mammals all in one heap. Alive that is. Fair play it would be quite a surprise. And a treat.

You hadn't been watching "Watership Down" or " Bambi" then had a couple of malts and went to bed, Gnash ? This lockdown is playing havoc with old farts like me, there's a thin line between fantasy and reality ! ! Cheers. 1
Born Hunter 17,798
I'd say Katch is close to the money. Probably something just very pleasant about that spot on that night that drew an array of critters to it.
