Who let the dogs out! 223
Bitches or dogs? Quote Link to post
poxon 5,722
Bitches for me I bond better with them most people can’t put up with them coming in season but most people who keep bitches that have had dogs can’t put up with dogs pulling to every post or gateway to be pissed on 1 Quote Link to post
moonlighter 1,163
Out if the lurchers I’ve had, I’d say that bitches were the better hunters, and probably a bit more obedient. The dogs I’ve had were stronger and better at bigger game. That could be just down to the individual dog though, and nothing to do with being a dog or bitch. 2 Quote Link to post

True, you get hard bitches, and soft dogs, but on average I think a male better type dog, I always go for males work them all season, so that another plus for me. 2 Quote Link to post
fred90 3,208
a bitch is pain in the arse twice a year. a dog is a pain in the arse 12 months of the year. 7 1 Quote Link to post
Who let the dogs out! 223
I’ve found males to be a pain with other males. Bitches seem to to be more chilled and less fights in my experience. Again could just be them individual dogs. I do lean towards a bitch myself now though. Quote Link to post
trigger2 3,137
As a rule I am a dog man, this time around I have a bitch in my kennel see how it goes. The best lurcher we owned was a bitch when I was growing up but I usually prefer dogs as I said Quote Link to post
Loton Moocher 1,254
Always kept bitches just personal preference i suppose , nowt agaist dogs seen good uns and bad uns in both sexes Quote Link to post
fred90 3,208
earlier remark is only in jest. I seem to bond better with bitches. work wise nothing to choose in my opinion, just a pain when it's locked on to someone's leg humping away. 1 Quote Link to post

Black neck 15,875
I'm all about the bitches I'm currently running a dog Something or other Quote Link to post
Maximus Ferret 2,063
Both have plus and minus points because of sex. When it comes down to it if it hunts and I enjoy my days out with it, it's a goodun. The youngster I'm bringing on now can be a bit touchy with both other dogs and other bitches but it's a question of management. Quote Link to post
Wales1234 5,490
Bitches every time I just get on with them better, I can’t stand dogs following bitches around when your out drives me up the wall Quote Link to post
dytkos 17,784
Best coursing dog I've had was a bitch, best deer dog was a dog, best finding dog (terrier) was a bitch, best staying dog (terrier) was a bitch, best all rounder (lurcher) was a dog. Overall I prefer a dog but it depends on the indivdual animal. Dogs piss me off with their constant pissing, bitches piss me off with their seasons. Going for an hermaphrodite next time. Cheers, D.
