Two of the greatest ever in my favourite sport, darts, Bristow and Taylor, were quite disliked by their peers. If you think about it dispassionately, you can admire the achievement, but not the person. Cheers.
WILF 47,547
If I’m a guest in your house and you cook me dinner all my life, I’m not going to tell you how f***ing horrible it all was and that you should be ashamed of every dish you ever served.......I’m going to say “Thank you, I appreciate all that you have given me” If being black and raising up the black man is so f***ing important in a world with lots of other shit going on then go and help the cause where black people are living in squalor in Africa. Dont sit in Monte Carlo and tell us how f***ing hard your life is ! The man has got millions, he could easily move to Africa and use that money if black lives matter to him that much.......tell him to phone Didier Drogba, he will give him a few pointers on investing in your own.

You don't let up do you? If you want to create a thread on Hamilton's race issues you're free to do so. I'm speaking of and appreciating his sporting achievements, you have clearly stated you have no interest in them and that's fair enough.

You said he should be honoured by Great Britain as well, why should a country who he regards (very publicly and very vocally on a world stage) as being barbaric to the one half of his genetic heritage that he obviously cares about honour the geezer ?.........we was all a load of c**ts last week? He could have chosen to just be a sportsman and let his achievements speak for themselves but he didn’t, if Lewis Hamilton didn’t want to be viewed through a prism of race then he should have kept his mouth shut and allowed us to judge him solely in his merits. WILF 47,547
I can hand on heart say that I never even thought about Lewis Hamilton at all, let alone in a racial sense until he started banging on about race......until that point he was a bloke who drove a car and went out with a bird from the pussycat dolls........don’t keep starting these things and then telling everyone to be quiet ! Most sportsmen at the very top of their game, or even businessmen, are so driven and self-absorbed they have no time or desire to be liked. On the other hand, if someone isn't likable to begin with, getting good at their game won't suddenly make them the nation's darling.

Totally agree.....a man looking to get to the top of his game in sport,business,anything....who worries about being Mr Popular.....is probably not going to get to the top of his game at anything.

gnasher16 30,441
Im normally pretty good at separating a sportsmans performance from his personality i dont much care for what people get up to away from their sport....Lewis Hamilton is supposedly the greatest motor racing driver of the modern era, good for him i admire the dedication/talent and uncompromising will it takes to reach the very highest level of your sport so as a sportsman i acknowledge his achievements.........but when a sportsman portrays himself as more than just a sportsman and acts as a representative of people he is putting himself on offer to be judged as such......and Hamilton comes across as the typical " poor little me dont i have it tough " victim that blacks are holding up as their beacons of light....another black who refuses to live in black neighbourhoods, spent a lifetime poncing off the white mans inventions and innovation only to then try and guilt the very same people once he,s " made it "......just another no identity mongrelised little beige colour person demanding the rights to live with and dictate to the people he hates. As for the comparison to Muhammad Ali thats just ridiculous.....Ali was for Malcolm X ideals of separation but they ignored that and went with Luther Kings ideals of integration.....Ali had pride in his race and didnt want to exist as parasites in white nations like Lewis Hamilton does. Be quiet will you. This is a thread about his sporting achievements, of course with the success he has the talk of a knighthood is inevitable.

He will probably refuse it based on our countries long history of barbarity towards “his people” so it’s all academic I suppose.
