Going back to your Hawking analogy I would agree that the quality of a certain star should be appreciated and should appeal to masses. The alternative would be mass extinction.

But I'm not sure how it's relevant to a multi-billion dollar private corporation. Pick your event and your actor. I still don't understand why we have to appreciate the effort and the glory of it. Surely it's entirely subjective?

Of course it's subjective but even I can acknowledge greatness in fields and subjects that I dislike or have no interest in. 

There's nothing really subjective about his achievements though, they are plastered all over the record books.

Thats how f1 works as far as I know.

If I put a monkey in a space rocket and fire him into space he is faster than Lewis Hamilton, probably has the same grandad, Cant even spell BLM and won’t be getting a knighthood......he will be happy with a banana !

You're forgetting that he has a teammate sat in exactly the same car and given equal opportunity, nothing to do with him being the longest running employee.

So take it you missed the years where he won the title in inferior cars and did so because of his skillset.
