Kay 3,709
Mick if they are getting along ok now i would get him vasectomised now , he may be ok to leave in all year with the jills, my hob was fine and lived all year with any entire jills , he brought them out of season as & when needed, only draw back now is he may still be fertile when the jills come into season, maybe better if you seperate him after his op for a good 6 weeks , but by that time the jills will be in season no doubt anyway & need bringing out of season some other way Quote Link to post
stubby 175
it all depends what you see happening in the future? will you want any offspring from this hob, if not then as long as he is over 6 months old, get the snip done on him (not castration) as some vets may advise, as a castrated hob will not bring your jills out of season, then once he's over his op, and firing blanks he can live constantly with the jills, bringing them out of season, if at any time you wish to breed, borrow an entire hob for that particular jill, Quote Link to post
