What If Rabbits Could Kill You?

Recommended Posts

People saying this and that yet they are falling over themselves to own lurchers whose parents can barely kill a big dog fox .

leave off.

id genuinely put a bullet into anything in this world  if I thought it was helping out the environment Or another mans livelihood .

people need to give themselves a shake

I don't believe that tbh, numerous animals including Wolves can outrun a bear quite comfortably. Of course they will be much faster than a human, but a racehorse, nar.

I was just searching the net.and found this a good little read..

Imagine if Theodore Roosevelt or Frederik Selous we’re dragged from the grave and signed in on here.

God I’d kill to have a drink with either of those men.

Different times of course but the sense of adventure that inspired them remains. In the US or Africa there’s every bit as much justification for hunting serious apex predators as we have in the uk with deer. But I’m not having that argument on here. Lol

Fair play though everyone has their own mind and motivations.

Got nothing against what anyone wants to do but I think sometimes there comes a point you get a bit killed out, and now I just understand and appreciate how everything works a bit better, we have already f****d the balance right up so we will always have to step in and address the balance ourselves as is happening with the badgers here ??

Agreed mate.

There’s definitely a tendency amongst British ‘sportsmen’, or countrymen I guess, to be somewhat judgemental when it comes to the hunting of large game though. That’s all I was getting at really.

Its not helped by folks with bags of cash and no class though.

“Takes all quarry / fills the freezer”

is an in vogue description for dog that in reality would get jacked if ran at more that three hares an afternoon never mind getting pulled all over A field by an 18 stone beamoth.

those big reds and indeed the fallows if given half a mind could do you some serious damage.
I was talking with a lad a while back and how he described the dog as not only the master of its quarry but also the insurance policy in event of a tricky customer kind of summed up the difference between the huge majority who are content to bath in the dogs achievements and those who seek to find its flaws.

I know where I’d rather have stock from .

Yep.  Piss poor preparation = piss poor performance. What I  don't understand is 30.06 is very common up there and if you've got eighty yard, surely 6 rounds right in the engine room ought to make a difference to an aerosol can of spray.  Did he have a mate.?  Was he /she armed.?  What the he'll did they do. And if they broke ranks and legged it I would consider using one of those rounds on them.  It used to be classed as cowardice in the face of the enemy. Mind a charging lion is quick.

In Canada the most feared mammal is the bull Elk in the rut ,followed by the bull moose ,grizzly then black bear .We saw black bears when we were there ,the sows being considerably smaller than the boars .
The day we left there was a sow grizzly with two cubs walked through the centre of Banff .They closed the roads and stopped traffic and let her through ,gutted I missed it .

The elk are massive ,a third bigger again than our reds and it’s no wonder people are killed when testosterone rises .

I totally agree with that brother (as you already know)......I have come to the conclusion that the dog worth having you can’t have in most situations.

Imho not enough people are trying to break dogs and so not enough dogs are getting bred from that ever got pushed to limits.
