I'm not as clued up about politics as you chaps ,and tbh I'm I bit indifferent to it all ..but this puzzles me ,the UK and the USA at the moment both have leaders who 're considered on the right ,Boris makes no secret of his love for britishness and the empire and our history ,Trumpo can be considered the same in his admiration for western principles ,ethics and standards ,these are the leaders we have ,both on the same page as many on here ,...and yet .....the left ,neo Marxist ,anti western ,anti European white heritage narrative continues unabated ! .So where does the power lie if not with the leaders of our government's ? ...is it with the quangoes that have been infiltrated for years by the left ,? Is it with the MSM likewise ?is it with the universities polluting the minds of our youth ?  Or is it with silicon valley ?that absolutely rabid cess pit of Marxist ideology.

With the greatest of respect I think you slipped at the first hurdle there Old Un ;) .......it’s the answer to the rest of your post imho.

So, here is what I mean, what makes you think that Boris is Britain’s friend ?
“No secret of his love for Britishness” ? Really ?

If I say “I’m a fighter pilot “ does that make me a fighter pilot?

The bloke has spent his whole career getting very well off as part of the same system that has ruined the gaff.......he loves Britain so much that he supported a party and a political system that has undermined, threatened, coerced, villified, berated, betrayed, abused and generally destroyed your British person and the idea of Britain and what it means to be British.

If he loved Britain so much he could t have continued to be a member of a party that has done so much to continue Labours “good” work.......he is a f***ing snake like all the rest of them.

Once you think about that the rest is obvious

Do we think Trump is a bit nuts when in actual fact he is talking total sense ? We have been fed madness for so many years that now we think normal is weird ?

I watched the trump election live in the company of Americans and everyone of them was over the moon When he hit 270  since then I’ve had a massive interest in the politics of the United States a

When Trump was asked to condemn right wing militias in last nights Presidential debate, he said ; "Proud Boys, stand back, and stand by" ! I took that to mean " let the left wing start it, b

I've no love for Boris, but I think he's the best of a very bad bunch.

At least he didn't roll over to the EU !

If May had got her way, we would have "BRINO", Brexit in name only, we would have been a vassal state, obeying all their rules, but with no say in the making of them !

The traitor Corbyn would sell us out to any country, never mind the EU ! He had over 30 years of voting against the EU, but changed his stance 180 degrees just to suit his tribal allegiances, f**k the rest of us !

And the LibDems ? They are the shit weasels who not only wanted us to stay in the EU, but actually said they would unilaterally scrap the referendum that we, the people had voted for !

So, all things being equal, I'd rather have the posh boy from Elton, who at least makes the right noises, than the traitorous shit weasels who would ignore our vote and sell us out !

is Boris a new Churchill or Disreali ? Of course not, but, in my mind, at least, he's the best of a very bad bunch !

Cheers.

Not yet ;) .......let’s wait and see mate

I fully respect your “Best of a bad bunch” comment but I also think that’s part of the problem......there is no best, there’s just a bad bunch.

All that may be true (or not ) but what I'm getting at is he (Boris ) is obviously on the right ,and he's in charge ,so how come it feels like we live in a left wing dictatorship .?

I don't think we have a true right wing in British politics.

We have far left, left, centre left, centre right and right, but no far right.

This could be because we fought a devasting world war against far right dictators like Hitler and Mussolini.

I think the vast majority of people in the U.K. are conservative with a small "c"

We have respect for our police and armed forces, view immigration with distrust, and dislike authoritarian, unelected apparatchiks.

But we are the silent majority, as long as things are bumbling along nicely we don't much care.

The left and the far left may be in the minority, but they have insinuated themselves into every walk of life that affects us; the police, education, politics, the media and television, helped in no small way by institutions like Common Purpose.

These days, political correctness means you are punished more severely for calling someone a paki or a chink than you would be for burglary !

Politicians are terrified to confront this nonsense as they know they will be vilified on social media, the press and tv, and will lose their cushy jobs, so go along with it.

I don't know how it will end here, but in places like America and France, I can only see it resulting in violence.

Cheers.

Because we have had nearly 20 years of left leaning politics and they have put lots of things in place like the Supreme Court to keep things that way, it’s not the politics on the telly you need to watch, it’s things like the new head of the bbc and offcom and the people that Dominic Cummings is sacking that will make a difference, but it will take a term or two to swing things back to the middle by which time the boris love will be gone and we will move back to a labour government and the pendulum will start to swing the other way again, it’s all bollacks and just keeps the people divided, because the day we all learn to sing from the same hymn sheet is the day we learn we don’t need to be told when to fart or speak and don’t need governing any more ?
