LED or normal yellow beam

I find the red led ok but the white is shite. Halogen for me, not sure about the dog but if I can't see it to keep the beam on it there's no point?

I'm exactly the same. I'd pretty much given up lamping on my own as I just couldn't see stuff til i bit the bullet and bought a thermal. Best thing I ever did. I had laser surgery on my eyes years ago and they were never the same in low light since.

I spotted a Charlie just fine the other night at work with my LED cap lamp, I think those with older eyes just can't grasp the new technology tbh.

Find you catch eyeshine better with led but prefer running dogs on a yellow light.

LED lamps not for me the lights that white I can’t see the centre of the beam it’s as if it’s burnt out. variable 170 ticks all boxes for me big land or small

The led is great for fox eyes and deer eyes, but I get no reflection at all with rabbits.. much prefer the halogen for all round lamping. It’s a shame though as the light weight of the led, (batteries) is brilliant

Little LED good for bunny bashing, take the big halogen if there’s a chance of something running further away

I wouldn't call flipping a switch new technology,just us old cnts can't see as good.I'm betting the younger gen won't be able the see much in the future staring at their phones all day.

I know mate I don’t have no trouble spotting gear on dim beam nor does this young bitch I got being brought on even at distance the reflection kicks back I still recon the only use for high beam is for the human benefit of seeing the run

That's my case my eyes have gone down hill fast the last few years.when the dog is nearly there I have to increase the dimmer or I can't see feck all
